Founded by acclaimed interior stylist Mita Mehta, the studio is known for creating homes that feel alive, personal and timeless. Each project begins with a story of people, place and emotion, unfolding through a layered interplay of design, art and craft. With over three decades of experience, Mita Mehta Studio has styled residences and holiday homes that bring together modern restraint, vintage warmth and handcrafted detail.

At its core, the practice is rooted in sensitivity to context and character. Every space is seen as a living entity that evolves with its inhabitants, guided by intuition, collaboration and care.

Mita Mehta

An interior stylist and curator with more than thirty years of experience, Mita Mehta has reimagined the role of styling in India by placing emotion and storytelling at the centre of design. Educated at the L. S. Raheja School of Interior Design, she combines global aesthetics with Indian craftsmanship to create spaces that are both contemporary and soulful.

Her philosophy rests on the belief that a home should carry the spirit of those who live within it. Mita’s intuitive approach weaves colours, textures and objects into narratives that feel deeply personal. Having travelled to over twenty-five countries, she draws from cultures that value craftsmanship and heritage. Featured in Architectural Digest, The Hindu and Society Interiors, and named on the AD List 2025, Mita continues to shape interiors that feel warm, layered and quietly expressive.

Arushi Mehta

As Studio Lead for Brand and Business Strategy, Arushi Mehta brings together creative insight and strategic precision to shape the evolution of Mita Mehta Studio.

Her role bridges design direction, business growth, and relationship management — ensuring that every collaboration and partnership reflects the studio’s values of care, connection, and craft.

Arushi leads client partnerships from discovery to delivery, guiding 8–10 projects annually. Her strategic approach to brand storytelling has strengthened the studio’s visibility and voice, securing features in Architectural Digest, Design Pataki, and other leading design publications.

Beyond communications, Arushi oversees vendor partnerships, procurement, and production — managing relationships with over 25 artisans and suppliers across 10+ regions.

Representing the brand at international design fairs such as Salone del Mobile and India Design ID, Arushi has generated multiple strategic collaborations each year. She has also been instrumental in defining the studio’s visual and verbal identity.

At the heart of her work is a clear vision: to move the studio forward with purpose, consistency, and intent.

Within Mita Mehta Studio, creativity and clarity exist in harmony. Mita leads the aesthetic and emotional direction of each space, while Arushi guides the studio’s trajectory and voice. Their collaboration gives the practice both depth and momentum, ensuring that every home is styled with heart and steered with purpose.

For the Community

At Mita Mehta Studio, design has always been rooted in emotion, connection, and care. Extending these values beyond the spaces we create, we dedicate a part of our annual earnings to an initiative close to our hearts, Spreading Joy.

Spreading Joy is our way of giving back to the community that surrounds us. Each year, we bring together 30 to 45 children from underprivileged backgrounds to experience moments of happiness, creativity, and celebration. Every three months, we host a themed carnival aligned with festivals such as Holi, Diwali, and Christmas, transforming ordinary days into unforgettable experiences.

Our project lead, Arushi, curates a unique concept for each carnival, from Christmas-themed goodie bags and festive décor to traditional games, face-painting, and treats like popcorn and cotton candy. Every element is designed and executed with the same thoughtfulness and attention to detail that define our design philosophy. 

Beyond the carnivals, we also focus on providing the children with what they might require— such as school supplies, books, and feminine hygiene products- to support their everyday well-being and education. 

Behind each event is a team effort, from planning logistics and coordinating volunteers to partnering with local vendors and community groups. Together, we create safe, inclusive spaces where children can play, express themselves, and feel seen.

For us, Spreading Joy is not a campaign. It reflects our ethos of designing with purpose, connecting with care, and sharing a little joy wherever we can.
